Private Flute Lessons

Whether you're picking up the flute for the first time or preparing for auditions, I welcome students of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. I enjoy working with curious beginners, dedicated hobbyists, and aspiring professionals alike, and I love helping each student discover an approach to learning that works for them.

Lessons are available in person in the Johnson City, Tennessee area. Every lesson is tailored to your individual goals, interests, and learning style. My teaching emphasizes thoughtful practice, strong fundamentals, and expressive music-making, with the goal of helping students become confident, independent musicians while enjoying the process along the way.

If you're interested in taking lessons or have any questions, I'd be happy to hear from you. Use the contact link below to get in touch or to schedule a free trial lesson.

The ETSU Flute Studio

The East Tennessee State University Flute Studio is a close-knit, supportive community where students are encouraged to grow as musicians and people. My goal is to help each flutist develop a strong technical foundation, musical curiosity, and confidence on stage, while also learning how to collaborate, listen, and lead. Students perform regularly in flute choir, chamber ensembles, and solo settings, with weekly studio class providing opportunities for frequent performance alongside discussions of pedagogy, performance anxiety, auditions, music history, and the role of musicians in the modern era.

As part of the ETSU Department of Music, the flute studio is an active, joyful place to make music, build community, and find your artistic voice. Use the links below to follow our studio activities on Instagram or to learn more about the music program and auditioning for ETSU.
